Hi All, I was just wondering if you blindies out there care about fashion trends and so on? I care about looking decent, but I don't care what everyone else is wearing. I just want to be comfortable and look presentable. And I don't care at all about makeup! hehehe. Caitlin

hey Kate, I am the exact same. I think it's important to be presentable when necessary, but I'm also the type of girl who likes to wear her hair down, and wear comfy clothes. I don't oftin wear make-up unless I am going to the prom or somewhere else. I like to dress up, but when you are blind, that can be a little trickey. >Luckey for me, I have an awesome sister who is willing to help me out when ever need be. She goes shopping with me, and helps me pick out clothes. Well hope this gave ya a bit of insite, no pun intended! lol!

I too am not into fashion trends because trends change every season, every year. And that can get expensive and it's not a luxery I wanted or needed. Now yes I do prefer to be presentable when its necessary like going to parties, interviews, work or class. Like work, and school wearing the approprate dress code atire and parties and interviews dressing up a tiny bit. Like a few weeks ago I went to a party with my friends. They told me dress jeans and a sweater was fine. So I wore red sweater, black dress slacks and wore dress shoes. I actually wore my tenner shoes to the building because I'd prefer comfortable walking shoes. But then changed into my dress shoes when I got in the hall. But when I go out shopping, friends houses, movies or family house parties I don't bother dressing up. I wear a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. So no need to be fashion concious.

Yep you guys, that's exactly what i am. Be dressy when necessary, and always be comfortable where possible. Sweatshirts, jeans, jackets, sweats, they rock, hehehee! And comfy shoes too! Hehehe. Caitlin

Same here, Caitlin. I like fashionable, trendy and snazzy clothes at all times, but I also like to be comfortable. I have a wardrobe full of rollneck jumpers, pretty tops and trousers, a few pairs of jeans and matching sweaters, a poncho a gillet, several pairs of party shoes, trainers, boots and nice sandals to complete all the outfits.

I like to look presentable but still have my own style. I'm into the gothic or rocker or metal style or the medieval renaissance revival type stuff, yet I like to have a no-frills look for work, you know, not too fancy and delicate where you have to dry clean it after getting it dirty. I've heard of the corporate goth style, lol, I'll have to check that out. As for make-up, I do foundation and lip gloss. I can't close my right eye, so no eyeshadow or eyeliner or anything like that.

I don't pay attention to what's in as a style, so don't intentionally follow fashion trends in what I wear either. Although I usually wear almost whatever feels comfortable, and only dress up when I have a meeting or otherwise would have to, I'm starting to read about clothes that would go with how I look. It's interesting to learn how certain colors go with certain skin and eye colors and hair styles.

Yeah it is. I look good in blue, black, pink, red, green or yellow.

Cool. According to my mom and sister, I look good in pink, although I'm not into that color. *smiles* Oh, also, I don't ware jewlery much at all, and I barely put on that foundation stuff and lip gloss as far as makeup goes, and that's only sometimes that I do that as well.

Yeah, well I try to stay in tune with the fashion and I do wear make-up sometimes, I guess it all depends on how much time I allow myself to get ready and where I'm going....but it's sometimes difficult to know what everyone else is wearing since we can't see, but yeah.

I don't care that much about fashion trend, I prefer dressing as I want to.
